Head coaching Andy Reid is one of the most successful coaches to ever play the NFL However, personally, Reid has been afflicted with the addiction issues of his two sons. One of them passed away a decade ago due
to an overdose.
Reid was a father of five with his wife Tammy who he wed in 1981. Britt, Garrett, Drew Ann, Spencer, and Crosby.
The coach experienced the loss of his most senior child, Garrett, from a cocaine overdose. Garrett was just 29 years old at the time of his death and was attending Lehigh University in Easton. In the year at that time, Andy is the Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, the team which he'll face next Sunday during the Super Bowl.
The other son of his, Britt, is in jail for driving under the influence
Britt Reid, his eldest son was for eight years as an assistant coach for the Chiefs until just days before Super Bowl LV, when they were defeated by Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Three days before Super Bowl LV, Britt hit another car and a five-year-old girl who suffered injuries. The issue lies in the fact it appears that Britt was driving under the influence and was arrested and transported to the police station.
Britt's alcohol level was 0.113 which is well over the limit of 0.08. The incident could not have become a major issue if the victim had been hospitalized for 10 days. She then was forced to learn what it was like to walk.
On September 20, 2022, Britt Reid confessed to his guilt, and in November, he was sentenced to a maximum of three years imprisonment. He was arrested immediately following the sentence.
Britt Reid has been previously sentenced to prison for 23 months in 2007 after an investigation by a judge revealed that he operated a "drug emporium" within the Reid residence along with his brother Garrett. This was the same year that Britt got sued to overshoot a gun into the face of a person's face in the course of a road rage incident.
